Promising Young Woman Film Review By Logan Coleman

Promising Young Woman is the full-length theatrical directing debut by Emerald Fennell and it stars Carey Mulligan. The cast that stood out was Carey Mulligan, Bo Burnham, Alison Brie, Clancy Brown, Jennifer Coolidge, Molly Shannon, Laverne Cox. I am hoping this film will be nominated for Oscars for Best Lead Actress for Carey Mulligan, Best Picture, Best Makeup and Hairstyling. I would describe this film as a drama thriller spliced dark elements of comedy.

This film mainly deals with the culture of date rape on college campuses and the complexities and why it is hard for victims to get justice. This film will unfortunately be very divisive for some people. I would have to say that both Jennifer Coolidge and Alfred Molina who deliver career defining performances in the film, and I did not now that they were in the film. My only issue that I have with film’s tone during the final act of the film. I am giving this film 9 and ¾ stars out of 10.

Wonder Woman 1984 Film Review By Logan Coleman

Wonder Woman 1984 is the latest film starring Gal Gadot. The cast that stood out was Gal Gadot, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright, Kristoffer Polaha, Gabriella Wilde, Lucy Davis, Connie Nielsen, and Chris Pine. This is a great popcorn film in the style of Richard Donner’s Superman film. I love the soundtrack of the film. The film does capture the look of 1984.

I will let some people now that this film will be divisive for some people. This film is more based on the runs Wonder Woman comics based on George Perez run of the comics. I honestly wish that they were more screen time for Kristen Wiig and despite she does the best she can giving certain script issues that I had with the film. I hope they redesign Cheetah’s look for the next film.

When it comes to Pedro Pascal performance, I can elements of Gordon Gekko, Lex Luthor, and J. R. Ewing. I will admit even though Maxwell Lord has blonde hair this is from the comics, his personality does not match Donald Trump. Lynda Carter makes a surprise but important cameo in the mid credit scene towards the end. The score of the film was excellent. I am going against most other film critics; I am giving this film 8 and ¾ stars out of 10.
