                                                                             Against the Ropes is the full length theatrical Directorial debut of Prime-Time Emmy Winner Charles S. Dutton and it was released in 2004. The cast that stood out was Omar Epps, Golden Globe nominee Meg Ryan, Future Daytime Emmy Winner Tim Daly, Future Prime-Time Emmy Winner Kerry Washington, Prime-Time Emmy Winner Charles S. Dutton.

                                                                              I am honestly shocked this film wasn’t nominated for Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress in a leading role, Best Actor in a leading role. The fight scenes were well choregraph. I am actually going against most other film critics, I am giving this film 9 stars out of 10.
